صبح و شام

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي، فَاغْفِرْ لِي، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

Allahumma anta Rabbi, la ilaha illa anta, khalaqtani wa ana 'abduk, wa ana 'ala 'ahdika wa wa'dika mastata't, a'udhu bika min sharri ma sana't, abu'u laka bini'matika 'alayya, wa abu'u laka bidhanbi, faghfir li, fa innahu la yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa ant.

“O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I keep to Your covenant and promise as best I can. I seek refuge with You from the evil I have done. I acknowledge Your favour upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for none forgives sins but You.”

Called "the master of seeking forgiveness" in the hadith. Said morning and evening; whoever says it with conviction and dies that day or night enters Paradise.

أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ

Amsayna wa amsal-mulku lillah, wal-hamdu lillah, la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah.

“We have reached the evening and so has the dominion of Allah. All praise is for Allah. There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner.”

The evening wording, as narrated by Ibn Mas'ud. In the morning the same dua is said with "Asbahna wa asbahal-mulku lillah".

اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا، وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا، وَبِكَ نَحْيَا، وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ، وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ

Allahumma bika asbahna, wa bika amsayna, wa bika nahya, wa bika namut, wa ilaykal-masir.

“O Allah, by You we enter the morning and by You we enter the evening; by You we live and by You we die; and to You is the return.”

The morning wording. The same narration gives the evening form, which begins "Allahumma bika amsayna" and ends "wa ilaykan-nushur".

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa huwas-Sami'ul-'Alim.

“In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.”

Said three times in the morning and three times in the evening. The narration promises that no sudden affliction will strike the one who says it until the next part of the day.

رَضِينَا بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا

Radina billahi Rabban, wa bil-Islami dinan, wa bi-Muhammadin rasulan.

“We are content with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad as Messenger.”

Said in the morning and in the evening. This is the wording recorded by Abu Dawud; a widely quoted variant uses the singular "Raditu".

اللَّهُمَّ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ، فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ، رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَمَلِيكَهُ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي وَمِنْ شَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشِرْكِهِ

Allahumma 'alimal-ghaybi wash-shahadah, fatiras-samawati wal-ard, Rabba kulli shay'in wa malikah, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa ant, a'udhu bika min sharri nafsi wa min sharrish-shaytani wa shirkih.

“O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Lord and Sovereign of everything: I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek refuge with You from the evil of my own self and from the evil of Satan and his incitement to associate partners with You.”

Taught to Abu Bakr, who was told to say it in the morning, in the evening, and on going to bed.
