NamazZone — Privacy Policy

NamazZone (“the app”) is a prayer times, Qibla, and Quran companion app published by NamazZone (namazzone.com). We designed the app to work without accounts and without collecting your personal data.

1. No accounts, no ads, no analytics

The app does not require sign-in or registration. It contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking SDKs.

2. Data stored on your device only

The following information is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us or anyone else:

• your selected city, coordinates, timezone, and calculation method;
• prayer check-in history and Ramadan fasting tracker entries;
• your mosque name and jama’ah times;
• Quran bookmarks, last-read position, reading minutes, and goals;
• app settings (notifications, time format, Hijri adjustment, reciter).

This data is excluded from Android cloud backup. You can erase all of it at any time via Android Settings › Apps › NamazZone › Storage › Clear data, or by uninstalling the app.

3. Location

If you grant location permission, your device location is used once, on your device, to find the nearest city for prayer-time calculation. Your location is never uploaded. You may instead search for a city manually and never grant location permission.

4. Calendar

If you choose “Sync events to device calendar” and grant calendar permission, the app writes Islamic event dates to a dedicated local “NamazZone” calendar on your device. Nothing is read from or written to your other calendars’ events, and nothing is transmitted.

5. Internet use

Prayer times and Qibla direction are calculated on your device. The app connects to the internet only to fetch Quran text, translations, and recitation audio from third-party providers over HTTPS:

• api.alquran.cloud — Quran text and translation
• cdn.islamic.network — recitation audio

When the app requests this content, those providers receive standard network information such as your IP address and the requested surah. We do not send them any personal information. Their content is provided by the Islamic Network project.

6. Notifications

Prayer notifications are scheduled and shown entirely on your device. Enabling them is optional and can be turned off in the app or in Android settings at any time.

7. Children

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. It contains no user-generated content, chat, ads, or purchases.

8. Changes

If we change this policy, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new effective date.
